How to choose a Mexican hammock?

A Mexican hammock differs from a standard store-bought one primarily in its weave. Thousands of flexible loops conform to the body, and the width allows you to lie diagonally, flat, without arching your back.

First, choose a size: L for one person, XL for two, XXL for the whole family. Then the material: nylon handles moisture better and is suitable for outdoors, while cotton is soft and pleasant to the touch, perfect for covered areas.

Can the hammock be left outside?

Nylon yes, for the whole season. Cotton is best hung under a roof and brought in for the night and during rain.

What distance is needed for hanging?

Most comfortable is 3.5–4.5 m between suspension points, attached at a height of approx. 1.8–2 m. The hammock should hang slightly — its lowest point should be roughly at chair height.

Do I need to drill into the wall to hang a hammock?

Not always. Two trees, sturdy posts, or a hammock stand will suffice. For a wall, you need strong hooks anchored in a load-bearing wall.

How do I wash a Mexican hammock?

Hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, do not wring. Hang to dry in the shade.
