There are meetings in life that simply have to happen. When our paths—mine (Rafał) and Wojtek’s—crossed for good two years ago, we knew something special would be born from it. Today, I want to introduce you to the man without whom Hamakija wouldn't be what it is. Meet Wojtek—a man who knows everything there is to know about hammocks, and whose soul is filled with the Mexican sun.

The man who brought Mexico to Poland

Wojtek is no novice in the "hammock world." For years, he ran the Hamaki Cabana brand, where he infected Poles with a love for Latin-style relaxation. But his story began much earlier and much further away.

Wojtek is a true globetrotter. He has traveled across Europe from end to end, but it was in Mexico that he left a piece of his heart. He speaks fluent Spanish, and Mexican culture, along with their approach to life and craftsmanship, has become his personal philosophy. It was there, in the Yucatán, that he watched the descendants of the Mayans at work, learning that a real hammock is not just string and fabric—it is an art that requires patience and heart.

Rhythm in his hands, peace in his mind

If you ask Wojtek what connects hammocks and music, he will answer without hesitation: RHYTHM.

Few people know that Wojtek has been playing the drums since childhood. When he strikes the drumheads, you can see the same passion and precision he puts into selecting the best weaves for our hammocks. Music accompanies him everywhere—from his distant travels to his daily life in Poland. The rhythm of the drums, which you might hear in his old recordings, is the same energy we want to pass on to you at Hamakija. It’s the pulse of life, joy, and authenticity.

Why now? Why together?

Everything in life has its time. Wojtek decided to close the chapter named Cabana to create a new quality together with me (Rafał) under the Hamakija banner.

We were united by a vision of creating a brand that not only sells products but promotes a lifestyle full of balance. Wojtek brings his vast experience, knowledge of Mexican craftsmanship, and an artist's soul to Hamakija. I contribute my energy and a fresh perspective.
