There are encounters in life that simply have to happen. Two years ago, when our paths – mine (Rafał's) and Wojtek's – crossed for good, we knew something unique would come out of it. Today, I want to introduce you to the man without whom Hamakija would not be what it is. Meet Wojtek – a man who knows everything about hammocks, with the Mexican sun playing in his soul.
The Man Who Brought Mexico to Poland
Wojtek is no novice in the "hammock world." For years, he ran the brand Hamaki Cabana, where he spread the love of Latin American-style relaxation among Poles. But his story began much earlier and much further from here.
Wojtek is a true globetrotter. He has traveled across Europe far and wide, but it was in Mexico that he left a piece of his heart. He speaks fluent Spanish, and Mexican culture, their approach to life and craftsmanship, has become his personal philosophy. It was there, in Yucatan, that he observed the descendants of the Mayans at work, learning that a true hammock is not just string and material – it's an art that requires patience and heart.
Rhythm in the Hands, Peace in the Mind
If you ask Wojtek what connects hammocks with music, he will answer without hesitation: RHYTHM.
Few know that Wojtek has played drums since childhood. When he strikes the membranes, you can see the same passion and precision he puts into selecting the best weaves for our hammocks. Music accompanies him everywhere – from distant journeys to daily life in Poland. This rhythm of the drums, which you can hear in his archival recordings, is the same energy we want to convey to you in Hamakija. It is the pulse of life, joy, and authenticity.

Everything in life has its time. Wojtek decided to close the Cabana chapter to create a new quality under the Hamakija brand with me (Rafał).
We were united by the vision of creating a brand that not only sells products but promotes a lifestyle full of balance. Wojtek brings his vast experience, knowledge of Mexican craftsmanship, and an artist's soul to Hamakija. I contribute my energy and a fresh perspective.
